A fine old landmark pub just off the main A6 bypass and beside Blackrod railway station. It has had a £100,000 refurbishment, to more align it with the needs of the local community. Previously known as the Rivington, then the incorrectly spelt Ridgeway and now back to its original name of the Ridgway, named after John Ridgway owner of the nearby but long closed Victoria Main Blackrod pit. The food offering will start from tapas style dishes and artisan pizzas moving to a gastro style menu soon.
