Tucked away just off Canal Street, Molly House occupies a former worsted tailor’s shop and opened in December 2010 as a bar and café. Named after London’s historic “molly houses”, it’s split across two floors with post‑Victorian, decadent shabby‑chic styling. Downstairs, “The Tea Room” houses the kitchen, food servery and cask ale bar with four handpumps (not always all in use), plus wooden tables and benches. Upstairs, “The Bordello” is more intimate, with sofas, a fireplace and a terrace for smoking and drinks. Alongside cask ale and a strong local beer focus spanning many styles, there’s an extensive tea list, specialist coffees and quality spirits. Tapas is served 1pm to 8.30pm, with vegan options. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2023.
