The Squiffy Squirrel is a new micro pub in the centre of Shaw, situated opposite the Wetherspoons, Shay Wake, which opened on Friday 14th November and offers three hand pumped real ales and one hand pumped Seacider cider in a comfortable and warm atmosphere. It is privately owned and run by folks who are also involved with running the Angel pub in Dukinfield. They are intentions to open a brewery at the Angel in March 2026 which will provide the Squiffy Squirrel with a house beer. The beers on sale on on my initial visit were from Millstone Brewery, Bridge Beers and Boddingtons Bitter brewed by J W Lees. The upstairs room is suitable for use for meetings and functions and live music is available on Friday evenings.
