The Boat & Horses was originally built in 1804, and was known as the Pleasure Boat Inn before receiving its present name in 1826. The construction of the M60 caused substantial damage to the foundations of the Boat & Horses and the pub was completely rebuilt in 1999. The pub has 2 rooms, a traditional Vault to the right as you enter and a lounge popular with diners to the left. At the back of the lounge is a dining area where carvery meals are available every day. Outside there is a large terrace overlooking the canal, popular in summer when the sun comes out.
A Lees seasonal or Boilerhouse beer is sometimes available alongside the 2 regulars.
If arriving by car you are required to enter your reg no. at the bar to avoid a potential charge,
